The Bentley Neighbourhood Plan is now under Babergh District Council’s control.

Submission draft Bentley Neighbourhood Development Plan 2018 – 2037

Bentley Parish Council have submitted a draft Neighbourhood Development Plan to Babergh District Council under Regulation 15 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 (as amended). In accordance with Regulation 16, the District Council are commencing formal consultation on this draft Plan today, Thursday 24 June 2021.

Comments are invited from both statutory consultees and from those who live, work and carry out business in the area on whether the Plan as submitted (and supporting documentation) fulfils the Basic Conditions as required by Paragraph 8(1)(a)(2) of Schedule 4B to the Town & Country Planning Act 1990 (inserted by the Localism Act 2011).

Written comments only (preferably using the ‘Response Form’ available online) should be sent by e-mail to: or by post to: ‘Bentley NP Consultation’, c/o Mr Paul Bryant, Spatial Panning Policy Team, Babergh & Mid Suffolk District Council, Endeavour House, 8 Russell Rd, Ipswich, IP1 2BX … to arrive by no later than 4:00pm on Friday 27th August 2021. [A 2-week extension from the original closure date, to allow for the latest version of the NPPF to be considered alongside the Neighbourhood Plan.]
